By coach invitation

Competitive Team

Intro to Sparring and the competitive team. Train to compete under Boxing Saskatchewan.

Who it’s for

Academy athletes who want more, by coach invitation. There is no age to apply for; a coach decides when an athlete is ready, based on skill, maturity, and consistency, and talks to the family first.

How it works

The door is Intro to Sparring: controlled, supervised rounds with full protective gear, where athletes learn what sparring actually is before anyone decides anything. Athletes who take to it join the competitive team and train toward events sanctioned through Boxing Saskatchewan and Boxing Canada, with certified officials and medical oversight at ringside.

What training looks like

Academy classes plus Intro to Sparring sessions, then team training as competitions approach. Every round is coach supervised, every athlete is matched carefully, and nobody spars who does not want to.

What athletes get out of it

The full sport: competing, travelling with a team, and finding out what they are capable of. Competition costs are discussed with families before any commitment.

What you need

Everything from the Academy, plus the protective gear the club fits and provides for sparring. Competitive athletes register with Boxing Saskatchewan and Boxing Canada, which the club handles with you.

Questions

What Parents Ask Us

Is boxing safe for kids?

Yes. Amateur boxing is one of the most supervised sports there is: certified coaches, structured classes, protective gear, medical checks, and certified officials at every sanctioned event. Our non-contact streams involve no contact at all.

Do they have to spar?

No. Sparring is always optional and always a coach's call. Athletes who want it earn their way in, with full protective gear and close supervision. Plenty of our boxers train for years and never spar.

What if my kid has never done a sport?

Then they are in good company. Total beginners are the norm here. Every athlete starts with the same fundamentals, and coaches meet each kid where they are.

Can girls join?

Yes. Girls train and compete here. Every class is coed and every athlete gets the same coaching.

What about kids with disabilities?

Talk to us and we will find a way that works. Kids train in the same classes as everyone else, and coaches adjust the work to the athlete.
